Later that night, we spotted a helicopter circling the area and learned there had been an escape from a local prison.

Everyone started looking around and joking about trying to “blend in.” Police eventually showed up because of a noise complaint, but they didn’t bring a boat and weren’t going to swim or go through the woods—so the party kept going until early morning.
